As a public health consultant working across adult social care and healthcare, I’ve seen firsthand how the strength of our workforce directly shapes the quality and equity of the services we deliver. Workforce development isn’t just about recruitment or training—it’s about cultivating a resilient, skilled, and motivated public health community that can respond to today’s challenges and anticipate tomorrow’s needs.

My interest in workforce development stems from a deep commitment to sustainability and innovation in public health practice. I believe that by investing in our people—through mentorship, inclusive leadership, and continuous professional development—we can build a workforce that reflects the diversity of our communities and is equipped to tackle complex health inequalities.

In collaboration with colleagues across the system, I’m keen to contribute to shaping a future where public health professionals are empowered, supported, and celebrated. Whether through strategic planning, policy development, or frontline engagement, I see workforce development as a cornerstone of a thriving public health system.
